Mega Ran

Random, aka Mega Ran, aka RandomBeats… Teacher, Rapper, Hero. Guinness World Record Holder.

When LA Weekly said that Ran’s “fanbase and niche audiences are growing at a rate not seen since Tech N9ne,” they meant it. A former middle school teacher, Mega Ran (formerly Random) blends education, hip-hop and gaming in amazing new ways, penetrating the farthest reaches of the galaxy with his unique rhyme style and electric performances.

Ran cut his teeth in the city of Philadelphia as a moonlighting emcee and producer, performing, freestyle rapping, producing and later engineering at a studio. After relocating to Phoenix, competing in the Scribble Jam emcee battle championships and taking an early exit, Ran almost quit before he was even started, when a creative lightning bolt struck, and a fire was lit.

Video games, comic books and pop culture, all such huge factors in Ran’s upbringing, would begin to seep their way into his musical output, and the results were stunning.

Bit Brigade

“When was the last time you attended a live music performance with a genuine element of risk involved? And no, going to a Gwar show with a white t-shirt on doesn’t count. When Bit Brigade takes the stage your mind will frantically oscillate between “Oh! Agh!! Please don’t die!!” and “YES! He’s doing it!!” Combining the dread and daring of a live video game speed run with the spot-on technique of a live band covering the musical accompaniment to everything you’re seeing on-screen in real time, Bit Brigade will have you swinging between the two mediums. From thrashing about to live renditions of your favorite stage themes, fingers yearning to the sky in a rock ‘n roll parody of sea anemones seeming to silently plead, “Please, feed us more fretboard pyrotechnics!,” to being locked in stock-still rapture as the infallible maestro of the d-pad, Noah McCarthy, takes on the final boss and risks his video game life under the threat of intense peer scorn (or the reward of night-long glory and a credits score). No matter the outcome, Bit Brigade must play on until the deed is done – which it always is – on the first (and last) try. Once Noah’s NES buzzes on, there’s no turning back.” – Metalhead Mike of The Shizz, summer 2011

Shao Dow - US Debut!

Shao Dow is an independent rapper, manga author and occasional ninja.

After studying Shaolin Kung Fu with the monks whilst living in China, Shao Dow utilised the tenacity and determination he learnt from his martial arts training to independently forge his music career.

It’s little wonder Shao scooped the AIM Award for Hardest Working Artist – he has self-released three albums, created a headphones brand and published a manga book series through his own company, DiY Gang Entertainment.

The London-born artist also appeared on ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK and was invited into Parliament to speak on behalf of grassroots music venues across the country.

Known to rap in both English and Japanese, Shao is hard to define as just a regular artist. He constantly blurs the lines between anime (Japanese-style animation), martial arts and his own music and has worked with icons such as Sean Schemmel (the voice actor for Goku – Dragon Ball Z) and featured on the first single from Tech N9ne’s latest album.

Alongside his regular releases, Shao Dow is also working on the soundtrack for an online animated series with Mashed and Channel 4 –
the first episode achieved more than 1 million views on YouTube within two weeks.

When it comes to performing live, Shao delivers an unforgettable stage show. Mixing skilful lyricism, infectious beats and Kung Fu, he creates an unparalleled live experience.

He has opened for Tech N9ne, R.A The Rugged Man, KRS-One, Stormzy, 6LACK, Skepta and more, has performed at Reading and Leeds festivals and has toured across the UK, Europe and Asia.

A truly unique Fire in the Booth with Charlie Sloth is the jewel in the crown of a plethora of radio shows, including Radio 1, 1xtra, Capital Xtra and BBC 6 Music.

As a solo artist, he has opened for The Bacon Brothers (actor Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael), classic rock icons, Blue Oyster Cult, and comedians “Big” Jay Oakerson, Tom Rhodes, and the legendary Gilbert Gottfried. He has also performed with former Paul McCartney sideman Robbie McIntosh, and Hamish Stuart (who has also worked Ringo Starr), Country Music superstar Keith Urban, and most recently jammed with legendary rock & roll band, The Smithereens.

During this time, he’s also been a member of several bands: The Rumble Cats, and Circle Sky (which played in Philadelphia, New York, and Chicago, from the summer of 1994 until the winter of 1996). In the fall of 1998, the band reunited under the name The Impossibles and opened for Gary Lewis & The Playboys and Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon. He was one of the founding members (as bassist and occasional lead vocalist) of one of the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania’s favorite bands, The Aardvarks from their earliest incarnations in late 2002, until January of 2004. He was featured vocally, as well as on lead, rhythm, acoustic, electric & bass guitars in perennial Lehigh Valley favorites, Redz Vision, as well as a member of The Infamous Hogleg Boys.

Scott is a veteran performer who really knows how to keep an audience entertained. A “Power Solo”, Scott performs primarily with just his voice and acoustic guitars, but also includes pre-programmed music for some songs. This allows him to have the sound and feel of a full band, but without the volume (and ego) problems that comes with being in one. “By adding the ‘electric element’ into the show,” Scott says, “I feel that I’ve become an infinitely more versatile performer, with new and more interesting ways to keep my audiences entertained. After all, they are why I keep doing this.”

After the better part of 20 years of performing, it shows that Scott still loves what he does. Now, he’s ready to take his show on the road and play for as many new audiences, in as many new areas around the country as possible. He freely & proudly admits, ’’Without my audience, I am nothing at all. I sincerely thank them, and I am eternally in their debt.’’.

Leave your preconceived notions about solo performers behind, and go see Scott for yourself. Once you do, you’ll have no doubt why he says:

“…A splendid time is guaranteed for all!”

Cam Steady

Cam Steady is a Los Angeles rapper who fuses the characters and themes of pop culture with new age hip hop. His infectiously aggressive delivery and production style perfectly embodies a chaotic final boss battle.

Steady became an overnight success back in 2012 with the creation of the series “VideoGameRapBattles,” pitting pop culture icons against each other in lyrical warfare. 8 years and 200,000,000 streams later, Cam Steady has carved out his own unique lane in the music industry blending hardcore rap and metal with video games and anime. Steady’s influence reaches well beyond the digital music space, performing live at events across the country and producing music for major properties such as Genshin Impact. Whether you’re a traditional hip-hop head, a die hard metal fan, or just a casual anime enjoyer, Steady’s energy will rip you right out of your seat.

Ashtin Larold

Ashtin Larold is a rapper/singer/songwriter from NJ. Ashtin became an overnight viral sensation in 2015 with his viral High School Rap Battle video amassing 26,000,000 views on his page and 100,000,000s of additional views from re-uploads. Since then he’s gone on to release several projects, as well as appearing in several other viral videos which have garnered him tens of millions of streams and plays. Bouncing from trap, cloud rap, emo, to pop and back, he’s proven there’s not many lanes he can’t prosper in. Although Ashtin is not considered a “nerdcore rapper,” he is a frequent collaborator within the community and is not afraid to lean into pop culture icons when spitting bars.

Gameboy Jones

A man that has love for rap music and all things geeky, especially anime! Gameboy got his start in music when his friends realized he had the ability to freestyle and pushed him to try rapping.  He would take whatever song he covered and make a wide array of geeky references. This led to a few early viral Facebook videos that would convince him to keep pursuing music.

GameboyJones would later be known as the creator of the #GeekCypher, a rap where he would give as many geeky “bars” as he could and at the end tag other rappers to do the same. This would give him much notoriety in the nerdcore community with people such as Dan Bull who later convinced him to transition into making original music.

Eventually after making a sound and style for himself GameboyJones now makes songs almost exclusively about anime. You can find him on YouTube where he will drop a new song every week about a new anime character or show.

Samad Savage

Samad Savage is an artist who’s going to change the world, or at least change yours. At seventeen, he realized that his ultimate purpose was to have a positive affect on the world, one person at a time.  Samad’s defining release was his debut project, ‘The Grey Area’ (June 28th, 2018). This game-changing project not only showcased Samad’s raw talent as an MC, while revealing the human, painful side of him. In 2019 he took “conceptual project” to another unreached level in hip hop. Dropping “Trust The Weird Kids”, he garnered the opinion of album of the year from multiple sources and did all catering to the outcasts of the world, whether it be in the classroom, workplace or everyday life. Now, after the success of his singles “Goodnight” & “Good N Evil”, the world couldn’t truly prepare for what’s to came next…..”DUO-LITTY”. Not many can say their first album reached #5 on an iTunes chart. Nor can they say they got a single from the album played on the legendary NYC FM station Hot 97. At the same time, a rap artist listed in two R&B playlists in pandora. All of this is done through prayer and drive. Let’s see where he’ll take it next.
